Its Week 2 of the ORC and its so much fun and inspiring to see all the participants at work! As for my own progress I have the mood board and a plan of action to share with you this week.
Let me go over the thought process behind the room plan. I found this lovely floral wallpaper with a vintage feel that I thought would be a great starting point for this room. I decided to use it on only the upper half of the room to avoid overwhelming the space as well as to keep the budget on track.
I decided to keep the rest of the space fairly modern and neutral to balance out the wallpaper. I decided on a metal bedframe, a wood and metal desk, a woven chair and a very narrow side table in terms of furniture. As for the bedding, I am going for all white with some throw pillows in geometric stripes and florals to add color. I will be using a green throw to break up all the blue in the room (yes I also plan on using a blue rug!). The desk has drawers which will hopefully provide some storage for guests.
I am also planning to do a tiny little window sill garden to add some greenery to the space. I want to add some art (mostly sketches or landscapes) and a mirror to accent the walls. Being a DIY novice, I plan on keeping 2 weeks for the wall treatment, a week to clear out the current room and assemble the furniture, a week to work on the art and window sill garden, and a week to add in the final touches. I can foresee a pretty hectic few weeks ahead but I am so excited to see the space come to life.
